The short answer: be the one who follows up—because most people won’t. 


The best strategy uses multiple touchpoints

  • Phone calls to build rapport 
  • Direct mail to stay visible with multi-touch mail campaigns with variations in envelope style/color, marketing materials (i.e. postcards), mailing inserts, etc. 
  • Email or SMS to stay top of mind and follow-up. Also great for re-engaging with those you have already spoken to.
